The 2006 Prince O3 Hybrid Hornet racquets are designed to be the most versatile frames that Prince will offer this year. One year after the introduction of Prince’s O3 racquets, this new Hybrid series debuts a second-generation design. Prince uses a greater number of conventional grommets on the O3 Hybrids. The unmistakable O-Ports are confined to noon and six on the perimeter of the frame. Prince says this extends the sweet spot towards the tip of the racquet where most mis-hits occur.
On the court, these racquets impress in every performance category. Our competitive intermediate play testers began hitting good shots right away thanks to the excellent overall usability of these frames. Both frames swing easy thanks to moderate weight and the favorable aerodynamics of the 0-Ports. The sweet spots are also large and deliver a comfortable shot response. Excellent spin capability combines with nice maneuverability and ready power to put more drive into serves, overheads, and groundstrokes.
The two head sizes play remarkably alike. All of our intermediate play testers felt OS 110 had a consistency advantage over the smaller MP 100 because of its larger sweet spot. We see the MP 100 as a nice fit for advanced players and aggressive hitters who want an O3 frame with performance that falls in between the O3 White and O3 Tours.
